Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo reacts to David Raya announcement at Arsenal
Bryan Mbeumo reacted to an announcement at Arsenal regarding shot-stopper David Raya on social media.
The Spaniard has just completed his second season in North London, having usurped Aaron Ramsdale as Mikel Arteta‘s first-choice between the sticks.
But after a strong first season, questions have been asked of Raya’s performances, most notably prior to Arsenal’s Champions League second-leg defeat to PSG.
Statistically speaking, the Spanish shot-stopper kept the joint-most clean sheets in the Premier League this season, alongside Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels.
However, that has done little to quell murmurings that the Gunners may look to replace Raya, and Arsenal hold a long-standing interest in Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, as reported for Football Insider by Pete O’Rourke.

Arsenal announce David Raya nominated twice for Save of the Season
Following the culmination of the Premier League season, Arsenal shared several pictures and videos in an Instagram post, captioned: “Two remarkable Raya stops.
“David has earned Save of the Season nominations for his heroics against Aston Villa and Manchester United!”
Former Brentford teammate and Arsenal-linked winger Mbeumo showed his support for the Spaniard by liking the post.

Football Insider Verdict
Arsenal have had plenty of issues in the offensive department this season, most notably at striker, where Mikel Merino has been forced to fill in for the injured Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
Not only has the lack of a central forward been problematic, but Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have spent periods out injured this season, with their replacements mostly lacklustre.

As a consequence, Arsenal have been linked with a move for Mbeumo, who is expected to leave Brentford this summer.
The Cameroon international scored 20 Premier League goals this season whilst also contributing seven assists.
Mbeumo’s versatility could see him play striker for the Gunners, and act as an alternative to Saka when the English winger is unavailable.
