Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo responds to Yoane Wissa amid exit rumours

Bryan Mbeumo has responded to Brentford team mate Yoane Wissa with the pair both being linked with a move away from west London this summer.

Manchester United have had two bids rejected by the Bees for Mbeumo so far in this window and it is anticipated the Red Devils will make another offer.

Following the departure of former Bees boss Thomas Frank to Spurs, the Dane wants to add Wissa to his attack.

New Brentford manager Keith Andrews will not want to lose the pair, who scored a combined 39 Premier League goals for the club last season as they finished 10th in the table.

Wissa post entices Mbeumo reply

Wissa took to Instagram (13 July) to post multiple pictures from his post-season break.

The 28-year-old captioned the post with a trumpet emoji and Mbeumo commented: “The Famous Uno.”

The pair have become one of the league’s deadliest partnerships, but that looks set to end this summer.

Wissa joined Brentford in 2021 from Lorient, two seasons after Mbeumo had joined the club from Troyes.

Football Insider though has been exclusively told that the club will only allow one of Mbeumo or Wissa to leave in this window.

Bees could be stung by departing duo

Football Insider Verdict

It looks set to be a race between Manchester United and Spurs to who can strike a deal quickest for either Mbeumo or Wissa.

It is understandable that Andrews, in his first ever managerial position, will not want to go into the new Premier League season having lost the majority of his teams goals.

The pair have been instrumental in the Bees’ success and both would be extremely difficult to replace.

The temptation of Champions League football at United and Spurs though may be too much for either player to reject, and neither club’s interest looks to be going away anytime soon.

With the three promoted club’s all showing ambition in the market to stay up, Brentford may be one of the club’s at risk of ending up in a relegation battle if they fail to keep either player and do not spend their funds wisely.

The Bees have so far confirmed the signings of goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, defender Michael Kayode and midfielder Antoni Milambo.
