Brentford’s Yoane Wissa reacts to significant Bryan Mbuemo to Man United update

Byran Mbuemo’s time at Brentford looks to be at an end as teammate Yoane Wissa reacted to a significant transfer update.

Mbuemo has been linked with a move away from Brentford since the transfer window opened with Manchester United and Tottenham both interested in his services.

Interest from Spurs has increased in the past week following their appointment of former Bees manager Thomas Frank.

Mbuemo was the standout performer at the Gtech Community Stadium last season scoring 20 goals and contributing nine assists as the Bees finished 10th.

United close to confirming Mbuemo signing

Ruben Amorim has been keen to add Mbuemo to his forward options and now it looks like the Portuguese manager has his man.

According to Ben Jacobs, United want to confirm the Cameroon international as a Red Devil before pre-season starts again on July 7th.

Jacobs reports that United have put in a second bid for the 25-year-old worth £60million, which Brentford are seriously considering.

Mbuemo’s strike partner at Brentford, Wissa seemed to confirm the news by liking Jacobs’ Instagram post.

Amorim boosts forward line

This is a significant signing for Amorim and United.

It shows the ambitions of Amorim and his ability to identify one of United’s key problems last season which was scoring goals.

It also shows United can still pull some of the best talent to Old Trafford even in difficult circumstances.

Even if Gyokeres also signs, this could spell the end for one of Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee at the club after their unconvincing performances.

Amorim will want to sell one of those two strikers to fund other additions with the club finding it difficult to offload Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho.

Mbuemo is flexible and can operate out wide or through the middle and with the creativity of Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes, he is sure to be presented with plenty of opportunities next season.

Already United look more frightening going forward, but United still need to tighten up defensively otherwise moving up the table may not be a given.
