‘Brighton reveal fresh Kaoru Mitoma stance as Bayern Munich interest continues’
Kaoru Mitoma has decided whether he will leave Brighton amid interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The Japan international has become one of the best wingers in the Premier League, notching 10 goals and four assists in 36 top-flight appearances last season.
Mitoma’s attacking exploits helped the Seagulls finish eighth in the Premier League in Fabian Hurzeler’s first campaign in charge.
But the South Coast outfit, who have often exceeded expectations in recent seasons, may have to make do without the 28-year-old next term.

Mitoma would leave Brighton for a Champions League club
The Brighton winger has proven he is capable of operating at an elite level, but he is unlikely to win silverware with Hurzeler’s men.
Meanwhile, former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers chief scout Mick Brown exclusively informed Football Insider that Bayern Munich lead the race for Mitoma.
Reporting about the former Kawasaki man’s future on Tuesday, 8 July, The Athletic revealed: “Mitoma had no interest in moving to the Saudi Pro League in January, when Al Nassr made exceptional bids of £54million and £61m for a player who turned 28 in May.
“A big offer from a heavyweight club in England or another of Europe’s other top leagues, with the added attraction of Champions League football, for example, would be more appealing to the Japanese left winger. He is motivated by career progression, not money.”

Mitoma is ready to shine at Bayern Munich
Football Insider verdict
Brighton would be devastated to lose Mitoma, but his exit is set to become a reality if Bayern Munich make a concrete offer for his services.

Meanwhile, the Japan star has shown enough in Seagulls colours to prove that he is ready for the challenge of playing for Germany’s top club.
Vincent Kompany’s men have made a habit of signing Premier League players and improving them in recent seasons.
For instance, former Crystal Palace gem Michael Olise excelled for the Bavarian giants last campaign, scoring 12 goals and producing 15 assists in the Bundesliga.
Even England superstar Harry Kane has hit a new level since joining Bayern, and deservedly won the first trophy of his career last term.
While Mitoma cannot be expected to have the same impact as the ex-Tottenham striker, he would prove to be the Leroy Sane replacement that Kompany needs next term to retain his club’s Bundesliga title.
