‘Brighton ready to let Adam Webster leave after Everton approach’
Brighton are open to letting centre-back Adam Webster leave the club this summer amid interest in his services from Everton.
Brighton enjoyed a great season under young head-coach Fabian Hurzeler last term, but burly defender Webster struggled to make his mark due to injury and form issues.
The 30-year-old, who joined the club from Bristol City in 2019, made just 14 Premier League appearances in 2024/25, and it now looks as if he could depart the Seagulls this summer.
Hurzeler has already moved to bolster his defensive ranks recently, with versatile centre-back Olivier Boscagli signed on a free after leaving PSV Eindhoven, and so it could be Webster to make way as the Toffees plot a move.

Everton enquire about Webster as Brighton look to part ways
Football Insider revealed in January that Wolves were interested in signing Webster in the winter window, with the centre-back potentially set to be allowed to leave the AMEX Stadium on loan due to his lack of game-time in the first-half of the campaign.
A move away never materialised, and he missed more games through injury in April, but did retain the Seagulls’ captaincy when he was available to start in the league.
With Brighton having bolstered their defence with Boscagli and the signing of Diego Coppola from Hellas Verona, The Mail have now reported that they “will listen to offers” for Webster this summer, after Everton asked about his potential availability.
They claim that Toffees boss David Moyes wants to sign more cover at centre-back ahead of the new season after Jarrad Branthwaite recently signed a new five-year deal on Merseyside, with Michael Keane having left at the end of his contract and James Tarkowski recovering from an injury.
Recently reports have indicated that Everton are set to offer Keane a new deal, despite him leaving on 30 June, and so the club’s decision on Webster may well boil down to whether his compatriot stays on Merseyside or leaves for a new challenge.

Everton need to get on with their transfer business or risk another relegation battle
Football Insider verdict
Everton enjoyed a revival under Moyes in the second-half of last season, and they eventually finished 13th in the Premier League as they bid farewell to Goodison Park on a high.
Despite their decent showings, the Toffees need to act fast in the transfer market, with the club in a strange position regarding contract expiries and loan deals ending that has left just 16 senior players on their books as it stands.
Webster would be a decent signing for a low fee, considering his experience in the Premier League and their lack of depth at the heart of defence, but Toffees supporters will want to see more exciting signings made after they struggled to score goals last season.

Football Insider have recently revealed that Everton are working on a £40m deal for Man City playmaker James McAtee, while the Toffees are also planning a move for Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi, as revealed to Football Insider by former scout Mick Brown.
It is clear that things are ramping up ahead of the club’s maiden campaign at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but they do need to start getting deals over the line quickly to give themselves the best chance of success next term,
