‘Brighton want lucrative Joao Pedro sale as Liverpool update emerges’
Brighton are aiming to cash-in on Joao Pedro this summer amid links to a Liverpool transfer move.
The Brazilian forward joined the Seagulls in 2023 for a club-record fee of £30million [BBC Sport].
Since joining from Watford, the 23-year-old has impressed, netting 28 goals, and 10 assists in 65 games for the club.
His good form has led to Liverpool being interested in Pedro, and Mick Brown told Football Insider Pedro will “want to go” if the Reds make a move to sign him.
However, as now reported by The Mail, there could be a hitch in the Brazilian’s potential move to Anfield.

Brighton keen to ‘drum up’ interest in Joao Pedro
Brighton are understood to be keen to “drum up” interest in their star striker this summer.
Yet, despite Pedro’s name being floated around in connection with a departure from the Amex Stadium, there is said to be “nothing” to suggest that Liverpool would be one of the interested parties at this stage.

With neither of Darwin Nunez, or Diogo Jota particularly impressing for the Reds this season, a new striker will be needed at Anfield.
Despite Pedro’s talents, he is not a classical poacher, instead looking to involve himself in the build-up, and has often thrived behind Danny Welbeck as supporting striker this season, as shown by his even distribution of goals and assists.

Liverpool yet to decide on new striker after Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez struggles
Football Insider Verdict
Having suffered a miserable season, and a blocked move to the Saudi Pro League, Nunez looks set to leave Liverpool this summer, Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider.
The news also comes as the Reds are reluctant to give Jota a contract extension, leaving major question marks over the number nine position.
Julian Alvarez had been touted as a replacement, but O’Rourke revealed Liverpool are unlikely to reignite their interest in the striker, following his move to Atletico Madrid.
The Merseyside club have heavily relied on Mohamed Salah to be their main source of goals this season, and whilst it has worked in their favour in the Premier League, they Egyptian’s poor performances against PSG and Newcastle left the team without a plan B to rely on.
However, with the Egyptian out-of-contract this summer, Liverpool’s search for a new forward will have added pressure, and finding the right solution may be the difference between long-term success, or failure.
