Brilliant - Exclusive: Paul Robinson blown away by West Ham 'Fantastic signing'

Paul Robinson has been blown away by the performances of Tomas Soucek since the restart and claimed he has proved a “fantastic signing” for West Ham.

However, the former Spurs and Leeds United number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, insisted it was two points dropped against Newcastle United on Sunday.

Soucek, 25, joined the Hammers on loan until the end of the season in January but the midfielder will join permanently, for close to £15million, if they avoid relegation.

Upon survival the midfielder will put pen to paper on a four-year deal, will which excited fans given his recent performances.

The Czech Republic international has scored in each his last two games and could have easily had a third were it not for a controversial offside decision.

Robinson was impressed by Soucek’s impact since joining but lamented the Irons surrendering the lead twice at St. James’ Park after a 3-2 win over Chelsea in midweek.

“A very good player and he is looking like a fantastic signing,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s settled in quickly. He plays as a holding midfielder so for him to be getting in among the goals is an added bonus given everything else that he brings to the team. He is tall, a threat from set plays and an eye for goal at the moment.

“He is finding form just at the right time for West Ham.

“They played well against Newcastle but that is a dropped two points. It was a missed opportunity after a great result against Chelsea.

“Six points from those two games would have been massive for them.”

In other West Ham news, Danny Mills was blown away with the performance of 30yo against Newcastle.
