Josh Windass delivers Twitter verdict on Rangers team-mate display v Aberdeen
Rangers star Josh Windass has raved about Ibrox team-mate David Bates after the defender’s surprise inclusion in the starting XI to face Aberdeen.
Bates made his first league appearance of the season on Sunday afternoon during the 2-1 away victory over the Dons at Pittodrie.
Bates hadn’t made an appearance since featuring in the Europa League defeat to Progres Niederkorn in July.
He was a surprise inclusion in the starting XI as he replaced the injured Bruno Alves in the line-up and put in a good shift against Derek McInnes’ side.
Windass was delighted for the 21-year-old after coming in from the cold after nearly six months out.
“Delighted for David Bates. Not played in six months and was brilliant today,” Windass wrote on his personal Twitter account.

The win over the Dons propels Rangers into second place in the Scottish Premiership after back-to-back wins over Derek McInnes’ side.
Goals from Danny Wilson and Josh Windass helped the Gers to the three points although they faced a nervy ending after Ryan Jack’s dismissal and Frank Ross’ fantastic free-kick goal for the hosts.
Next up for the Gers is a clash with Owen Coyle’s Ross County next weekend as they look to build on their wins over Aberdeen and secure second place in the table.
