Bristol City, Cardiff and Blackburn race to sign Millenic Alli – sources
Bristol City, Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers are plotting moves to sign Millenic Alli from Exeter, sources have told Football Insider.
Alli, 24, has caught the eye of the Championship trio after his impressive performances at the League One club since joining last January.
Able to play across the front line, the Irishman has mainly featured as a left-winger and helped Exter to a mid-table finish last time out.
With just one year remaining on his current contract, and no talks about an extension as things stand, clubs are closely monitoring his situation.
Bristol City, Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers race to sign Exeter forward Millenic Alli
Alli made the move to the South West from Halifax Town in January, scoring four goals in ten appearances in the second half of last season.
He also picked up Exeter’s Player of the Month award in April due to his displays in which he found the net four times in five appearances.
His impressive return has caught the eye of clubs in the Championship who could look to do a deal just six months after his arrival.
Prior to his move into the EFL, the forward had scored seven goals in 21 National League appearances last season, and nine in 33 in his last full season at Halifax.
Blackburn forward Sammie Szmodics is attracting plenty of interest this summer after his outstanding season, and the club will look to replace his goals with reinforcements.
Meanwhile, both Bristol City and Cardiff limped to mid-table finishes, coming 11th and 12th respectively, and have turned to the transfer market to step up their ambitions.

While no formal approaches have been made, interest in Alli’s signature is hotting up with Exeter braced to receive bids for their star man.
In other news, Watford and QPR have made moves to sign an ex-Ajax star.
