'I'm Augustin and I'm going to do it how I want' - Exclusive: Major Leeds insight from Brown
Michael Brown is convinced the attitude of Jean-Kevin Augustin is key to whether he makes it at Leeds United under the hardline regime of Marcelo Bielsa.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the ex-United midfielder explained how the French striker is weighing up whether to conform to Bielsa’s ways or do things how he wants at Elland Road.
Augustin joined Leeds in the final week of the January window on an initial loan after his season-long loan to Monaco was cancelled at the halfway point.
There have been question marks about Augustin’s attitude, with the German media reporting that he was often late for training at Leipzig.
At Leeds, Augustin has been hampered by injury and fitness issues, and he’s made just three sub appearances out of the nine matches played by the club since his arrival.
Brown told Football Insider of the French striker: “I just think the ability’s there and I think, is attitude going to come into play?

“How will that affect Augustin? Does he say: ‘Well it’s not worked out at a couple of clubs, this is now extended to the Championship, in England where there’s great opportunities for me to put myself in the window to be around. Do I conform for four months?
“Or, he could say, ‘I’m Augustin and I’m going to do it how I want’. It’s the one to watch.”
Augustin has failed to make the matchday squad for the last three Leeds matches due to a hamstring injury.
The French forward has yet to score or assist in his 48 playing minutes for the club to date, and Bielsa’s side have won their last five Championship matches without conceding a goal.
