Brighton may give the green light for a blockbuster Ben White transfer this summer after his “magnificent” form for Leeds United.

That is according to former United midfielder Michael Brown, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge about the player being tracked by the Premier League big guns.

White has had scouts from the likes of Liverpool and Man United beating a path to his door, with Leicester City the latest to express an interest in a summer deal.

Brown is in no doubt the 22-year-old is destined for big things as he revealed how Brighton could have recalled him last month from his loan.

“Magnificent, I think he has got everything,” Brown told Football Insider. “Before the transfer window I was wondering what the callback clause, whether he was going to be there and I think there was an option that they could have possibly brought him back.

“But where would they have sent him? I think Brighton probably thought: ‘We’ll let him stay there for a little longer, we’ve got a great asset on our hands playing at a good club under a great manager who’s bringing him on.’

“If I was the parent club, I would have thought, ‘do you know what’? If he goes with Leeds and gets promoted we’ve got many, many options – do we bring him back or we’ll get a real big fee for him in the summer.”

White has started all 35 of United’s league matches this season and remarkably played every single minute of the Championship campaign.

He once used in an emergency midfield anchorman role in last night’s 1-0 win at Middlesbrough in place of the injured Kalvin Phillips but has been used principally this season by Marcelo Bielsa in his favourite centre-back role.

In other Leeds United news, it has been REVEALED that the club agreed sensational £19million deal with Premier League club just a few weeks ago.
