Bruno Alves: This is what I expect to do at Rangers
By Danny Wright
Bruno Alves has said that he expects to make a success of his time at Rangers.
The Light Blues announced their first signing of the summer on Wednesday after the defender put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Ibrox.
Alves, 35, was made available following a year-long stay at Serie A outfit Calgiari but has also played for a number of top teams across Europe including Porto, Fenerbahce and Zenit St. Petersburg.
He has come accustomed to winning titles and was a part of the Portugal squad that won Euro 2016, which was the latest of his many successes.
And now, Alves is hoping to keep up that winning momentum at Ibrox.

“I’m very happy to join the club and I will do my best to win – that is the main reason why I come here,” said the Portuguese centre-back to Rangers TV, as shown in a video on their official Twitter account.
“I have this feeling and this desire to win and I think to move here will bring this back to me and to my career.
“In almost all the clubs I play, I win, and I expect to win here for the fans and for the club.”

Pedro Caixinha is expected to make big changes to his Gers squad after being left unimpressed by the players at his disposal since he took the Ibrox hot seat in March.
Alves will bring a great deal of experience to what has been a very young Rangers defence in recent months and, judging by his comments, is also ready to install a winning mentality into the Scottish Premiership side.
The ex-Porto man has 89 caps and 11 goals for Portugual and despite his age, still managed to start in all but two Serie A matches for Calgiari this term.
In other Rangers news, the manager of this international midfielder has confirmed that a move to Ibrox is all but done.
