Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo troll Marcus Rashford after Man United latest

Marcus Rashford shared an off-the-pitch update that sparked a flurry of light-hearted reactions from his Man United teammates.

The Man United forward enjoyed a resurgence in form during the second half of the season while on loan at Aston Villa, playing a key role in their push for European football.

Unai Emery was eager to keep Rashford at Villa Park, but a permanent deal now appears unlikely due to financial constraints.

Aston Villa narrowly missed out on a Champions League place on the final day of the season, and their limited budget has made a deal for Rashford increasingly difficult.

Football Insider revealed Aston Villa would need to commit around £130 million across five years to sign Rashford to cover the transfer fee and his current £350,000-a-week wages.

With his loan spell now over, Rashford is expected to return to Old Trafford and even though United are open to selling him this summer, his recent social media update caught the attention of several teammates.

Man United teammates poke fun at Marcus Rashford’s padel skills

Rashford recently shared a recovery update as he continues to work his way back from an injury that ruled him out of the final weeks of the season.

Now, he’s posted again but this time away from the pitch, with a Instagram post captioned: “Padel time.”

His post quickly drew playful responses from teammates. Bruno Fernandes tagged Kobbie Mainoo and replied: “You think he can beat us?” to which Mainoo simply responded: “Negative.”

Former United goalkeeper David de Gea also joined in, commenting: “You’ve never picked up a racket in your life bro.”

The post attracted further reactions, with the likes of Leny Yoro, Antony and Youri Tielemans all liking the update.

Man United could cash in on Mainoo after Fernandes transfer snub

Despite the light-hearted exchange, questions remain over Mainoo’s future at Old Trafford.

According to former chief scout Mick Brown, he told Football Insider that Man United are willing to listen to offers for Mainoo as they look to generate funds for summer business.

This follows Fernandes’ decision to turn down a lucrative move to Al-Hilal, which could have brought in between £80-100 million.

With the captain opting to stay, United may instead be forced to consider selling one of their brightest academy products to balance the books.
