Nathan Ake and Man United captain Bruno Fernandes were quick to respond following another major announcement from Man City.
Pep Guardiola’s side have already been busy this summer, undergoing a significant reshuffle with several new arrivals confirmed ahead of the Club World Cup.
Rayan Ait-Nouri had already sealed his move to Man City, while Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki also joined in the short transfer window that’s just about to close, but all in time to be part of the travelling squad for the competition.
Although the transfer window is now temporarily paused during the tournament, clubs can still negotiate deals, but player registration must wait until after the Club World Cup concludes.
Now, Man City have made their fourth signing of the summer official, further strengthening a side that’s already had plenty of reinforcements.

Man City confirm signing of AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders
On 11 June, Man City officially confirmed their fourth signing of the summer, completing a deal for Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan.
The club’s official Instagram account posted the announcement, which was met with support from teammates including Ake and fellow new signing Ait-Nouri, who both liked the post.
Other players also showed their appreciation, including Man United captain Fernandes and fellow Dutch international Justin Kluivert.
Man City have held a long-term interest in Reijnders, and despite the 26-year-old signing a new contract with Milan earlier this year, they have now managed to land their man.
He impressed in Italy last season, scoring 15 goals in 54 appearances across all competitions and being named Serie A’s midfielder of the season.
With Kevin De Bruyne now confirmed to be leaving and left out of City’s Club World Cup squad, Reijnders is expected to provide a key boost in midfield as Pep Guardiola looks to refresh the side following a disappointing campaign.
Jack Grealish set to leave Man City after Club World Cup snub

With several new faces arriving at the Etihad, attention now turns to potential exits. and Jack Grealish appears to be at the front of the queue.
Grealish will not be included in Man City’s Club World Cup squad, and interest from Newcastle and Aston Villa is beginning to intensify.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Grealish feels he is being frozen out by Guardiola, following a frustrating season in which he made just seven Premier League starts.
His absence from the summer tournament only fuels speculation over his future, and a substantial transfer fee could help City balance the books following their heavy spending during a busy window.
