Bruno Fernandes, Andre Onana react to message from Man United to Leny Yoro

Man United stars Bruno Fernandes and Andre Onana reacted to a message from their club towards their teammate Leny Yoro.

The young French defender endured a difficult start to his career at Old Trafford after Yoro picked up an injury against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly.

This delayed the 19-year-old’s debut until December, when he was brought off the bench in a 2-1 defeat against the Gunners.

However, after a stop-start beginning to his United career, Yoro quickly turned things around and became an integral part of Ruben Amorim’s side.

Despite being a teenager, the French defender’s calmness on the ball and smart defending led to him nailing down a starting spot in the Red Devils’ back-three.

Yoro was United’s best player in the Europa League final loss against Tottenham, and in spite of the club’s failure to win a trophy last season, the 19-year-old showed their backline is in good hands.

Leny Yoro enjoys Wimbledon away from Man United

During the break in football, the Club World Cup aside, Yoro has continued to enjoy top-level sports as the Frenchman attended Wimbledon to take in some tennis.

United shared an image of their young defender at the All England Club on Instagram and the post was liked by teammates Onana and Fernandes.

Man United may look to sign Jarad Branthwaite

Football Insider Verdict

Whilst Yoro, Harry Maguire, and Lisandro Martinez are a strong trio, the Red Devils have never been a club to pass up on an opportunity in the transfer market.

And a major opportunity will present itself next summer, as Jarrad Branthwaite has a release clause in his new Everton contract, active from this time next year.

The Red Devils made several bids for the young English defender, but they were rebuffed.

However, should United qualify for Europe, or go one better and get themselves Champions League football next season, they will be in a prime position to sign Branthwaite.

The 23-year-old clearly enjoys being an Evertonian, but would be unlikely to pass up on the chance to play in Europe with the 20-time champions of England.
