Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo react to message from Man United ace Leny Yoro

Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo reacted to a message from Man United ace Leny Yoro during a period of upheaval at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils got their transfer window off to a flying start by signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Man United then looked to follow up that deal with a move for Mbeumo, but Ruben Amorim’s side struggled to agree a deal for the Frenchman.

Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider exclusively that Brentford have received a sizeable investment into the club this summer, and do not need to sell their stars.

This has reflected in United’s negotiations with the West London-based club, with the Bees sticking firm to their £71million asking price [The Athletic].

However, with a deal now agreed for the 25-year-old, Amorim now has two new attackers to occupy the free-roaming attacking midfielder positions he employs, although the Portuguese boss will be keen for this to be the beginning of the Red Devils’ transfer business, rather than the end.

Leny Yoro shares message after Leeds draw

United kicked off their pre-season campaign with a slightly underwhelming draw against rivals Leeds United.

The match finished in a 0-0 draw, but Amorim will have been pleased to see his backline keep a clean sheet.

Yoro came off the bench at half-time and carried on his strong form from the end of last season, shutting Leeds down on several occasions.

The French defender took to Instagram to share two photos of himself from the game, captioned: “Settings, on.”

The post was liked by Fernandes and Mbeumo, showing support for the young teenager.

Man United’s investment in youth paying off

Football Insider Verdict

United are a club famed for their use of young players coming through the academy.

But whilst Carrington’s production has been halted by the increasing turnover in managers of late, the club have made several savvy investments in the transfer market.

Last summer, United convinced Yoro to turn down the opportunity to join Real Madrid in favour of a move to Old Trafford, and then six months later Ayden Heaven was signed from rivals Arsenal.

Despite Lisandro Martinez suffering a horrendous injury that has kept him out for an extended period of time, the Argentine defender’s absence has hardly been felt.

Heaven and Yoro have more than adequately filled in for the World Cup winner and the decision to acquire both defenders looks an inspired decision from United’s hierarchy.
