Bruno Fernandes has already been texting superstar who Man United now want to sign in January
Bruno Fernandes has recently admitted that he has been messaging Ruben Neves, who has recently been linked with a move to Manchester United.
The former Premier League midfielder joined Al Hilal in 2023 and is out of contract in the summer.
Neves was previously a huge success at Wolves and is still well-loved by the Molineux faithful after previously captaining the side.
Now, with rumours linking the Portuguese international back to England, Man United are rumoured to have entered the race.
Ruben Neves seeking Premier League return amid Manchester United interest
According to The Times on 18 December, Neves is seeking to return to the Premier League in January.
The midfielder has turned down the chance to sign a new contract at Al Hilal, with Man United and Newcastle on alert regarding the situation.
As a result, the Saudi side are resigned to losing the Portuguese international, with £18million said to be enough to win his services in the upcoming window.
- Neves joined Wolves in 2017 after coming through Porto’s academy
- The midfielder would guide the Old Gold side to the Premier League and the Europa League during his six-year spell
- Neves joined Al Hilal in 2023, but is out of contract next summer
As a result, Man United may look towards Fernandes, who has been linked with an Old Trafford exit, to tempt his international teammate to join the Red Devils over his other options.
Luckily, the Man United captain recently admitted to The Standard on 17 December that he has been in contact with Neves after he was linked to Al Hilal in the summer.

In one section of his interview, he said: “The person who spoke to me was the president of Al Hilal, who called me directly.
“Ruben Neves sent me a message saying he wanted to talk to me. They wanted me to play in the Club World Cup with Al Hilal.
“It was already a love that came from the Jorge Jesus era, he had already called me in 2023.”
Can Neves be a hit at Old Trafford?
With Kobbie Mainoo also potentially off in January, Man United need a new midfielder.
Now, according to Fotmob on 19 December, the former Wolves star could be exactly what Ruben Amorim needs.
The midfielder is averaging 0.45 goals and 1.67 shots per match.
He is also averaging 0.27 expected assists per game, although he has yet to register one in the league.

| Shots | 1.67 |
| Passing accuracy | 90.8% |
