Bruno Fernandes is ‘not for sale’ at Man United
Manchester United have set out a hardline stance on Bruno Fernandes’ potential move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Fernandes has emerged as a top target for Al-Hilal after Mohamed Salah penned a new contract to stay at Liverpool, and that has put Man United on red alert over the prospect of their captain’s departure.
Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Fernandes is “irreplaceable” for United and a player Ruben Amorim cannot afford to lose, and this sentiment is shared at Old Trafford.
Sources have told Football Insider that Fernandes is not for sale under any circumstances this summer, and the 30-year-old has no desire to leave United for Saudi Arabia after another world-class campaign.
The Portuguese has produced 19 goals and assists apiece across all competitions for the Red Devils this term, and Ruben Amorim has acknowledged the “huge blow” that his departure would be at Old Trafford.

Man United given boost in bid to keep Bruno Fernandes
Last month, United’s former chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that £90million wouldn’t be enough for Al-Hilal to sign Fernandes, and the Red Devils are in no mood to entertain such a transfer fee.
Sources have told Football Insider that Fernandes’ contract at Old Trafford doesn’t include a release clause, and this will give Amorim further confidence that he can keep hold of his captain this summer.
Football Insider sources have also said a move to the Middle East isn’t currently on Fernandes’ radar, and even with the “crazy numbers” on offer from Al-Hilal, United’s number eight is willing to wait until later in his career before such a move.

New-look Man United need to build around Bruno Fernandes
Although United’s failings on and off the pitch this season could result in players of Fernandes’ quality opting to leave the club, the Red Devils will be absolutely steadfast in the rejection of bids for their skipper.
Additions aplenty are expected at Old Trafford this summer with the likes of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo linked with a move, but further sales will be required in order for United to balance the books.
However, with Marcus Rashford and Antony’s performances out on loan likely to attract suitors across Europe, United could still bring in the money they’ll need without Fernandes being used as a financial makeweight.
