Bruno Fernandes reacts to ‘final goodbye’ after Man United exit announcement
Bruno Fernandes reacted to a farewell message shared by Man United after the exit of a long-serving player.
Despite the Red Devils enduring one of the worst seasons in the club’s history, the Portuguese midfielder once again asserted himself as a world-class player.
In 57 games in all competitions, the 30-year-old scored 19 goals and assisted 18, almost single-handedly dragging his side to the Europa League final.
Fernandes had serious interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, but chose to reject the opportunity to move to the Middle East in favour of remaining with his current club.
The Red Devils’ response has been to aggressively pursue attacking options to build around their captain, signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves, whilst United are also looking to get a deal over the line for Bryan Mbeumo.

Victor Lindelof shares message after exit from Man United
Victor Lindelof will depart United after his contract expires on 30 June, and the club shared a video of the defender sharing some final words in a video on Instagram.
The post was captioned: “A final goodbye from Victor”, and Fernandes liked the post, showing support for his outgoing teammate.
Man United need reinforcements in defensive positions
Football Insider Verdict
Attacking reinforcements have been the name of the game this summer for United, which makes a lot of sense.
Only Everton and the three relegated clubs scored fewer goals than Ruben Amorim’s side last season, and with a new striker likely on the way, Cunha and Mbeumo‘s arrivals should aide their goal-scoring issues.
But, whilst their back three of central defenders is strong, and will only get stronger as Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven develop, United’s wing-back positions need adressing.
Patrick Dorgu arrived mid-season, and we have not seen the best of the young Dane as a result, but Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui hardly set the world alight on the right-hand side.
Both are more comfortable in a classical back-four, and United will also need an alternative left-wing back this summer.
