Now, the 27-year-old has provided fans with a fresh update on his progress and gave a glimpse into his recovery journey, an encouraging sign as he works towards full fitness ahead of the new campaign.

Lisandro Martinez shares fitness boost ahead of new season
Martinez has offered fans a positive update as he continues his recovery from injury, with United players showing their support.
The Argentine defender reshared Man United’s Instagram post, which featured photos of him working out in the club’s gym at Carrington. The post was captioned: “No cutting corners. Licha continues his recovery programme at Carrington.”
The update received plenty of attention from his teammates, with club captain Bruno Fernandes, Leny Yoro, and Matthijs de Ligt among those who liked the post.
Earlier in the year, the Man United squad paid tribute to Martinez by warming up in his shirt during after his injury, so it’s no surprise that many players responded warmly to the latest signs of progress in his rehabilitation.
When Martinez does return to action, he’s expected to face fresh competition for a starting spot, with Ayden Heaven having impressed in his absence.
Injuries have unfortunately disrupted much of Martinez’s time in England. During the 2023/24 season alone, he missed 42 matches across all competitions.
He still managed to make 32 appearances, contributing two goals and two assists, but the ACL tear ruled him out of key fixtures, including the Europa League final and missed 23 matches towards the end of the season.
Man United agree deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo as attacking rebuild continues

While Martinez works his way back to fitness, manager Ruben Amorim is wasting no time reshaping the Man United squad—especially in attack.
Following the arrival of Matheus Cunha in June, it was revealed last week that Man United have now agreed a deal worth £71 million to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
Reports indicate that the Mbeumo has completed his medical, and only the official announcement remains. The move signals a clear intent to revitalise the club’s front line.
After finishing with the fifth-worst attacking record in the Premier League last season, United are hoping their recent signings, and the potential addition of a new striker, can help reignite their goal-scoring form in the upcoming campaign.
