Bruno Fernandes reacts to Viktor Gyokeres’ message as Man United see ‘done deal’
Viktor Gyokeres has got a reaction from Man United captain Bruno Fernandes as the Sporting CP star took to social media amid growing links to a move.
Ruben Amorim is just trying to stay afloat at Man United, with his first season at Old Trafford failing quite spectacularly, and some supporters are already pushing for a change in manager.
Goalscoring has certainly been an issue across all competitions, but thanks to the manager’s links back to Sporting CP, Gyokeres has been heavily-linked with a move to the Premier League.
Football Insider understands that Man United are confident their move for Gyokeres is a “done deal” as those behind the scenes continue to work hard to reach an agreement ahead of the summer.
With 52 goals and 11 assists across all competitions this season, there is absolutely no denying that his impact on the Red Devils’ squad would be incredible, and certainly much-needed.

Viktor Gyokeres rumours continue to swirl at Old Trafford
Taking to Instagram (27 April), Gyokeres celebrated another matchball against Boavista, captioning an image of himself: “Poker night with the boys,” with a spade emoji.
The post gained interest from Tottenham duo Pedro Porro and Lucas Bergvall, and most importantly, Man United captain Fernandes, as questions continue to be raised over the striker’s next destination.
Ruben Amorim needs eye-catching signing to keep Man United job
Football Insider verdict
It seemed as though Arsenal were closer to signing Gyokeres than any other club in Europe, but after the latest update, Amorim might be able to buy himself more time as the manager.
Even despite his side reaching a Europa League semi-final, setting up a clash with Athletic Bilbao after Harry Maguire‘s heroics against Lyon, it has not been enough to satisfy the supporters.
Manager | Games | Won | Drawn | Lost | Win % |
Ruben Amorim | 35 | 14 | 8 | 13 | 40 |
The Red Devils have been made to look foolish in the Premier League, currently sitting 14th in the division with just four matches remaining, experiencing one of the club’s worst seasons in its history.
With Marcus Rashford, who is on loan at Aston Villa, still currently one of the team’s highest goalscorers this season, there is clearly an issue to be solved in the final third this season.
Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been utter disappointments, boasting seven league goals between them this term, and it would certainly be time to say goodbye to one of them if Gyokeres arrives.
