Bruno Fernandes sends message to Man United teammate who’s blown him away

Man United captain Bruno Fernandes has praised teammate Noussair Mazraoui after his impressive performance in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday (November 3).

Fernandes, 30, opened the scoring from the penalty spot to give the home side the lead before Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo equalised with a lovely volley.

The Portuguese star may have got the goal, but it was Mazraoui, 26, who got the Man of the Match award, despite playing out of position at left-back.

Mazraoui ended the game having won 13 ground duels, made 12 defensive actions, and had a 100 per cent dribble success rate as Man United earned a much-needed point.

Interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy remains unbeaten since taking the helm ahead of Ruben Amorim’s arrival after the November international break.

Bruno Fernandes impressed with Noussair Mazraoui

Since his summer arrival from Bayern Munich, Mazraoui has been one of the few Erik ten Hag signings to truly shine, featuring in all of United’s games this season.

With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia still struggling for fitness, however, the natural right-back has been forced out onto the left for the time being.

Still, he’s managed to impress his captain, who took to Instagram to let him know how well-deserved his recent Man of the Match award was.

There is no letting up for Man United, they face Greek side PAOK (November 7) in the Europa League before returning to Premier League action against Leicester on Sunday (November 10).

After those two games, the Amorim era will truly begin as he aims to guide them from 13th place to European qualification.
