Bruno Fernandes sends message to McTominay after Portugal beat Scotland
Man United playmaker Bruno Fernandes sent a message to ex-teammate Scott McTominay following the Scotland international’s goal in their 2-1 defeat to Portugal on Sunday.
McTominay, 27, opened the scoring in the seventh minute of the two side’s UEFA Nations League with a lovely header from a pinpoint Kenny McLean cross.
Thirty-year-old Fernandes then equalised just after half-time before Cristiano Ronaldo broke Scottish hearts with an 88th-minute winner.
Scotland are now without a win since their 2-0 friendly defeat of Gibraltar back in June, before their ill-fated Euro 2024 campaign.
Man United star Bruno Fernandes leaves message for Scott McTominay
McTominay left his boyhood club for Italian giants Napoli for £25million with 255 appearances and 29 goals under his belt.
Fernades, whose birthday was the same day as the Scotland vs Portugal game, took to Instagram to warn his ex-teammate about scoring on his special day.

It’s been an underwhelming start to the season for Fernandes and United with the attacking midfielder yet to make a single goal contribution for his club.
Erik ten Hag’s side currently sit in fourteenth with one win and two defeats in their opening three games of the Premier League season.
