Bruno Fernandes praises Harry Amass after winning young player award
Fernandes showed his support for teammate Harry Amass after the youngster was named Manchester United’s Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Season.
The Portuguese midfielder reposted United’s official announcement on his Instagram story, which read: “He’s just getting started. Harry Amass is our Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year for 2024/25.” Fernandes added an caption with an applause emoji and also liked the post.

Amass made his debut for Man United against Leicester in March and has since started in the four out of the last eight Premier League fixtures.
The 18-year-old has filled in at left-back during a period of injuries to Luke Shaw, and has already accumulated 346 league minutes, as well as two appearances in the Europa League.

Harry Amass targeted by Aston Villa amid exit speculation
Fernandes is not the only player linked with an exit as former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Aston Villa have registered an interest in Amass, with the Red Devils potentially considering a sale due to growing financial constraints.
Brown noted that selling academy products such as Amass would be considered pure profit on the club’s books, with United under pressure to comply with financial regulations.
With Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho also linked with a Man United exit, Amass could be the next youth talent the club is forced to evaluate.
Despite speculation surrounding his future, the teenager’s performances have been recognised internally, and this award serves as a well-earned appraisal of his breakthrough campaign.
