While Newcastle did get one goal back, the game finished 2-1 in favour of Barcelona, thanks to the Man United loanee stepping up in the absence of Lamine Yamal.
Some earlier reports suggested Rashford faces the prospect of returning to Man United early if his performances don’t improve, but he showcased his impact.
The Englishman fell out with Ruben Amorim last season and spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Aston Villa.
While Rashford impressed under Unai Emery, the side decided against signing him permanently due to financial restrictions.
Still, his notable performances earned him a loan move to Barcelona, as well as being called up to England once again under Thomas Tuchel.

Harry Maguire could follow Marcus Rashford in Man United exit
Another notable player who may be heading for the Old Trafford exit is Harry Maguire, as he enters the final few months of his deal.
Football Insider revealed that Maguire could quit Man United at the end of the season, with no current talks over a new contract.
He has yet to start a Premier League game this season despite coming off the bench three times.
Premier League and Saudi Pro League clubs have shown an interest in Maguire, and it is understood he could be tempted by a move away.
