Bruno Fernandes, Virgil van Dijk react as Jadon Sancho speaks out over Chelsea exit

Jadon Sancho has taken to social media to confirm his future as his loan spell with Chelsea from Man United comes to an end.

The winger had struggled at Old Trafford after his move to the club from Borussia Dortmund back in July 2021.

As a result, with Sancho having fallen out with then Man United manager Erik ten Hag, he would make the move to Chelsea on a season-long loan last summer.

That deal also included the option for the Blues to make that move permanent, although the player himself now has revealed that will not be happening.

Jadon Sancho says goodbye to Chelsea

Although Sancho did score for Chelsea in their UEFA Conference League final win over Real Betis late last month, his record during his time with the club was largely inconsistent.

As a result, there were rumours that the Blues were set to pay a £5million penalty fee to Man United rather than sign Sacho permanently.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday night (3 June), the winger made clear that is the case, in a post to say goodbye to the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Alongside a compilation of some of his best moments for Chelsea, the 25-year-old wrote: “Grateful for the experience.”

“Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home — teammates, staff and the fans.
Wishing the club all the best moving forward. Truly grateful, Thank you Blues”.

In response to the England international, Man United captain Bruno Fernandes and Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk showed their support for Sancho by liking that post.

A number of those who the winger has spent the season alongside at Chelsea such as Tosin Adarabioyo, Reece James, Marc Cucurella and Pedro Neto also did the same.

Man United return could be brief

Football Insider Verdict

While he may be heading back to Old Trafford rather than remaining at Stamford Bridge, it would not be a surprise if his return to his parent club is a brief one.

It is likely that Man United have seen their transfer plans upset by the return of Sancho, given they will be planning for an overhaul of the squad after such a disappointing campaign.

That would suggest they are not going to want someone such as Sancho back at the club, when he already failed to make the required impact for the Red Devils.

As a result, even if Chelsea are not going to buy him, the likes of Jim Ratcliffe will likely be looking to sell him to raise funds and create space in the squad for potential new additions.

With that in mind, it would seem to make sense if Sancho is not back at Man United for long before he is on the move again.
