Bruno Fernandes welcomes Bryan Mbeumo to ‘new home’ amid Man United transfer developments
Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes are likely to play key roles in Manchester United’s attempted revival next season.
Ruben Amorim‘s rebuilding of Man United’s squad is finally taking shape this summer with some high-profile additions made, and Mbeumo is one of the biggest after 20 Premier League goals last season.
Mbeumo and former Wolves star Matheus Cunha netted 35 league goals between them and will add considerable firepower to a United side which managed just 44 themselves, with even more to come.
Benjamin Sesko’s £74million signing from RB Leipzig finally ends Man United’s search for a new striker, and with the new season just days away, it remains to be seen how Amorim’s side will line up for their Premier League opener.

Mbeumo sends first Old Trafford message after Fiorentina clash
Amorim’s side open the new season with a tantalising clash against Arsenal on 17 August, and Man United‘s final friendly of pre-season gave an indication as to how they’ll line up at Old Trafford.
With Rasmus Hojlund left on the bench throughout a 1-1 draw and penalty shoot-out against Fiorentina in the clearest sign yet that his future lies away from Old Trafford, Mason Mount was given a start up front.
Bruno Fernandes started next to Casemiro behind Amorim’s front three of Mount, Mbeumo and Cunha, but his second-half switch back into the frontline may soon be a thing of the past after Sesko’s arrival.
After playing the first 74 minutes against La Viola, Mbeumo posted on Instagram (10 August), with a message to fans which said: Nice to meet you Old Trafford – Thank you for the warm welcome”.
Mbeumo’s new skipper Fernandes responded in the comments, to say: “Welcome to your new home!”
Fernandes finds ‘new home’ in new-look Man United setup
Football Insider Verdict
Seeing Mbeumo and Cunha be joined up front by Mount in Man United’s new-look attack will have hardly set the pulses racing at Old Trafford, albeit Sesko’s official unveiling gave a glimpse of what lies ahead.
United fans will hope that Sesko slots straight into Amorim’s attacking three for their opener against Arsenal, and spearhead a completely transformed frontline to put the ghosts of last season to bed.
Fernandes was the foil for everything good about Man United’s campaign to forget with 19 goals and 18 assists, but with his move into the midfield two set to become permanent, it remains to be seen if he’ll still be the main man next season.
