Bruno Guimaraes and Niclas Fullkrug react to Lucas Paqueta’s emotional West Ham message
West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta posted a heartfelt message on social media and earned reactions from across the Premier League as he is set to be cleared of betting charges.
West Ham continued their pre-season tour in the United States with a 2-1 win over Everton in the Premier League Summer Series.
Despite Idrissa Gueye putting the Toffees ahead, Paqueta levelled the score before the break, capitalising on a mistake from Everton’s new goalkeeper Mark Travers, whose misjudged punch gifted the Brazilian a simple finish.
Niclas Fullkrug netted the only goal of the second half, securing the win for Graham Potter’s side against David Moyes’ former team.
Meanwhile, Paqueta is set to be cleared of an FA charge on suspicious betting activity as the Brazilian produced a fantastic display following the emotional toll of the investigation. His message of gratitude and relief after the match prompted support and reactions from players across the league.
Premier League stars react to Lucas Paqueta amid uncertainty over West Ham future
The 27-year-old shared a photo of his celebration following the win over Everton, posting the word “DEUS” — which translates to “God” — along with a pointing upwards emoji and a heart.
He received plenty of support from across the football world, including from Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes, who commented with prayer emojis, while Bournemouth forward Evanilson liked the post.
Several West Ham teammates also showed their appreciation, including goalscorer Fullkrug and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who both liked the update.
Despite the positive atmosphere, Paqueta’s long-term future in east London remains uncertain.
Former senior scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that West Ham are preparing to accept offers for Paqueta this summer, despite him set to be cleared of the betting allegations that had threatened his career.
Brown previously stated back in May that West Ham were open to selling Paqueta as part of wider plans to raise funds for squad reinvestment under Potter.

Niclas Fullkrug could join Paqueta in West Ham exit
Despite Fullkrug showing support for Paqueta on social media, he may also be heading for the exit in the coming weeks.
West Ham are reportedly willing to let Fullkrug leave this summer, with his wages among the highest in the squad, as the club aim to raise funds.
The German struggled with injuries during his debut season and, with the attack misfiring for large spells, Potter may look to bring in a new frontman, further suggesting the 32-year-old’s time in claret and blue could be short-lived.
