Bruno Guimaraes: ‘Arsenal can’t do anything about it’ after ‘big’ Newcastle reveal – pundit

Arsenal must accept the fact Newcastle United are going to “challenge for all the top players” in the transfer market, according to Kevin Campbell.

The ex-Premier League striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said “it’s easy” for players to get on board with the project at St. James’ Park given the wealth of the owners.

On 30 January, Newcastle United completed the signing of widely reported Arsenal target Bruno Guimaraes.

As quoted by Football.London (7 February), Guimaraes insisted he has “no doubts” about his choice to join the Magpies.

The Brazilian detailed how the club’s plan to become “a big power in world football” swayed his decision.

When asked how concerning Newcastle’s emergence is for club’s like Arsenal, Campbell told Football Insider: “Let me tell you something about Newcastle.

“When you go into negotiations with Newcastle now, they are going to try and sell you the project.

“Players understand that Newcastle are the wealthiest club in the world. The owners plan to buy their way to the top. It’s easy to get on board with that.

“There is going to be a load more incomings in the summer. The squad will not look anything like what it does now because they will be challenging for all of the top players.

“Look, Newcastle are in it to win it and clubs like Arsenal cannot do anything about it. It is what it is. Welcome to the Premier League, that is what it’s all about.”
