Bryan Gil tipped to quit Tottenham and sign for Spanish club – pundit
Alan Hutton has tipped Bryan Gil to leave Tottenham and return to Spain if his situation doesn’t improve.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back said Gil lacks the physicality to move to the Championship and suggested a team like Valencia would suit his style of play.
The 21-year-old was on the bench for the Lilywhites’ 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday (9 November).
The winger has made just six appearances for Antonio Conte’s side this season.
The Spaniard has just under four years left on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after joining from Sevilla in 2021.
Gil spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Valencia.
When asked if Gil would be better suited to one of the lower leagues in England, Hutton told Football Insider: “His skill level is way up there, but his physicality is not there for the Championship.
“I have had to play there before. Everybody is 110 per cent committed, they are physical.
“If you are looking at going back to Spain, these type of things where his profile fits in so much better. He is technically gifted, he gets that time on the ball and makes things happen.
“He is probably looking to go back home, a team like Valencia that would suit his talents.“

Gil made 17 appearances for Valencia during his loan spell last season.
In those outings he provided one assist.
