Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa react as exit confirmed at Brentford

Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa have both reacted to the news emerging from Brentford of yet another exit ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Thomas Frank has already left his post as manager, replacing the potentially Saudi Arabia-bound Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, following yet another impressive season with the Bees.

The Bees claimed a top-half finish in the Premier League, losing just one of their final eight games of the season, but their performances could come at a cost during the summer transfer window.

Man United remain confident of a move for Mbeumo despite Spurs now circling due to their new manager, with several other players also linked with exits.

While supporters will be anxious throughout the summer transfer window, it is yet another major staff member’s departure being announced as changes are rapidly made just days after the season finished.

Another Brentford coach leaves the Gtech Community Stadium

Taking to Instagram (16 June), the official club account wrote: “We can confirm first-team assistant coach Claus Norgaard has left Brentford.

“During his time at the club, the Bees achieved two top-half finishes in the Premier League in three seasons. Everyone at Brentford wishes him well in his next role.”

Mbeumo and Wissa were joined by Kevin Schade in liking the announcement at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Brentford attempting to replace Thomas Frank

Football Insider verdict

The coach is likely to rejoin Frank in North London, having worked so closely with the 51-year-old during their time together at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Football Insider understands, however, that Keith Andrews is set for the vacant Brentford job, and the news has been met with a mixed reaction, to say the least.

The set-piece coach has very limited experience when it comes to this kind of role, but it appears that the Bees are keen to promote from within their own four walls instead of going on the search for a new manager.

Brentford had also been looking at Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna, Football Insider understands, after his side were relegated straight back down to the Championship after one season in the top flight.

Whatever happens during the summer, and whichever players decide to leave the club, it is likely to be a much more difficult campaign for the Bees once the 2025/26 season kicks off.

No Frank is already a big blow, but if Mbeumo and Wissa are to leave as well, the team could struggle for goals next season.
