Bryan Mbeumo sends message as Premier League club finalises transfer

Bryan Mbeumo has sent a message to Paris Maghoma after the midfielder left Brentford on Monday.

Man United signed Mbeumo from Brentford in a deal reportedly worth £71million in the summer, and the forward has proved exactly why this season.

The Cameroon international has scored eight goals in the Premier League, three more than any of his teammates.

Mbeumo had been at AFCON with Cameroon earlier this month, but his return has seen an instant return to stunning form.

Mbeumo scored on Sunday as Man United beat Arsenal 3-2, and he found the opener in a 2-0 win over Man City less than two weeks ago.

Bryan Mbeumo sends message to new Norwich City arrival

Norwich City confirmed on Monday that they have completed the permanent signing of Maghoma from Brentford.

The midfielder has signed a long-term contract until June 2029, with an option to extend it until 2030.

The 24-year-old made only 10 appearances for the Bees in five and a half years on the books after he joined from the Tottenham academy.

Last season, however, Maghoma featured off the bench in the Premier League eight times and was handed a start in the FA Cup third round.

But the former England youth international’s best season undoubtedly came on loan with Bolton in the 2023-24 campaign, when he netted nine goals and provided six assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.

Following confirmation of his move, Maghoma wrote on social media: “New Beginnings! Buzzing to be here & can’t wait to play in front of all you fans!

“Grateful for this blessing & opportunity! Let’s go. Thank you God for making this all possible. Jeremiah 29:11”.

Mbeumo, who featured alongside Maghoma on several occasions last season, commented, “Maghoooooomaaaa”, in a message accompanied by heart emojis.

Premier League stars congratulate Maghoma

Yoane Wissa also left Brentford in the summer, and the Newcastle United forward joined Mbeumo by congratulating Maghoma with emojis.

Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, who is on loan at Brentford, commented, “Oiiiiiii”, and former Gunners academy talent Tyreece John-Jules wrote: “Congrats my guy”.

A collection of other Bees were in the comments, too, including the likes of Fabio Carvalho, Kevin Schade, Frank Onyeka and Sepp van den Berg.

The clearly popular Maghoma could make his Norwich debut on Saturday, when his new team travel to Middlesbrough.

The Canaries are a team transformed under Philippe Clement, and they have now won their last four games across all competitions.
