BT Sport pundit makes bold claim about Arsenal ace, compares him to Eden Hazard

By Amir Mir

Owen Hargreaves has stated that Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez can inspire his side to the Premier League title just like Eden Hazard did for Chelsea during the 2014/15 season.

Forward Sanchez netted a sensational hat-trick against West Ham on Saturday evening, helping his side to within three points of leaders Chelsea after 14 games.

The Chilean international has scored 11 goals in 14 league games as Arsene Wenger aims to clinch his first English title since the 2003-04 campaign.

His performance at the London Stadium, which also saw him record an assist, drew high praise from former Manchester United midfielder Hargreaves.

“I thought it was incredible [performance from Sanchez], Eden Hazard carried Chelsea to the title a couple of seasons ago, the way he played today he could carry Arsenal,” Hargreaves told BT Sport, as quoted by the Mirror.

“There are better teams than Arsenal, like Liverpool and Chelsea. The way he played today as an individual is one of the best performances I have seen in a long time.”

Chelsea playmaker Hazard scored 14 goals and provided ten assists as then Blues boss Jose Mourinho guided the west London club to the Premier League title two seasons ago.

The Arsenal faithful will be hoping Sanchez can inspire them to the English crown after numerous missed chances over the past 12 years.

The Gunners have not been beaten in the league since Liverpool claimed a 4-3 win at the Emirates on the opening day of the campaign.

Wenger’s side have since won nine and drawn four of their encounters. They host Stoke City next Saturday, before travelling to Merseyside to take on Everton at Goodison Park.

In other Arsenal news, the Gunners are reportedly set to make a sensational bid for this Chelsea outcast.
