Former Celtic man Adam Virgo has taken to social media to praise the Hoops following their Betfred Cup win over Motherwell.
Goals from James Forrest and Moussa Dembele won the day for the Celts as they clinched the trophy for the second year running with a 2-0 victory.
The game was marred by a referring decision by Craig Thomson, who sent-off Motherwell’s Cedric Kipre and awarded Celtic a penalty after what looked like a dive by Scott Sinclair.
That shouldn’t take away from Celtic’s win though, according to Virgo.
Virgo, who spent three years at Celtic from 2005 to 2008, winning a Scottish Premiership title in the process, hailed the Bhoys on his official twitter account.
Virgo spent time at Colchester and Coventry on loan whilst at Celtic before returning to Brighton, the team that Celtic originally signed him from.
Celtic have won four domestic trophies out of four since Brendan Rodgers took over as Celtic boss in May 2016.
The Hoops are currently on a British domestic record run of 65 games unbeaten, the best such run in British football for over 100 years.
