Bukayo Saka reacts to Eddie Nketiah’s message after Crystal Palace bus parade

Eddie Nketiah had a four-word message for Crystal Palace supporters as the team celebrated their historic FA Cup triumph with an open-top bus parade.

Crystal Palace are still riding high after their dramatic FA Cup final win over Manchester City, with Monday’s (26 May) celebrations bringing thousands of fans to the streets to honour the club’s first-ever major trophy.

Eberechi Eze etched his name into Crystal Palace folklore with the winning goal at Wembley, but Nketiah also played his part in the cup run, contributing three goals and an assist in five appearances.

The forward has endured a frustrating season in the league, often limited to cameo appearances, but made a statement just days after the final after Nketiah scored twice against Wolves. However, he was again restricted to a substitute role on the final day against Liverpool.

Still, Nketiah kept it simple with a message for the fans that summed up the moment as the players celebrated with the supporters.

Crystal Palace and former Arsenal stars react to Eddie Nketiah’s message

The 25-year-old shared a celebratory Instagram post featuring photos from the open-top bus parade, alongside a short message that read: “Vibes in south Ldn” with a trophy emoji.

Palace players were quick to show support, with Joel Ward and Ben Chilwell liking the post, while Eze responded with a heart emoji.

Former Arsenal teammates also joined in the celebration, with Declan Rice, William Saliba and Bukayo Saka all liking the post in support of their ex-teammate.

Nketiah has faced an underwhelming season at Crystal Palace, struggling for consistent minutes due to strong competition in the squad. He’s made just nine starts in the Premier League but still managed to register 10 goal contributions across all competitions.

It was a successful campaign for Oliver Glasner’s side, who capped off the season with a historic FA Cup triumph and secured Europa League football for next term.

That achievement may present new opportunities for players like Nketiah, but not all stars may be around to enjoy the European adventure. One of them is Marc Guehi.

Football Insider revealed that Chelsea are preparing to step up their efforts to re-sign Guehi, particularly after sealing Champions League qualification on the final day.

Despite the club’s FA Cup success, Guehi’s situation remains unchanged. With just a year left on his contract, a return to Stamford Bridge appears to be a realistic possibility as Palace brace for offers.
