Bukayo Saka will ‘definitely’ push to join Liverpool after latest – pundit
Bukayo Saka will push to leave Arsenal if they fail to achieve a top-four finish in the 2022-23 season.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s future.
According to The Sun (19 July), Man City and Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Saka, 20, as he enters the final two years of his contract.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed (15 July) that talks between Arsenal and the midfielder are still “ongoing” this summer – with his future a “priority” for the London giants.
Saka has become one of Arsenal’s most influential players since signing his most recent deal in July 2020.
However, Kenny claims he will want to join Man City or Liverpool if the Gunners can’t offer Champions League football.
“I think Arsenal will be going for fourth this season,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I like who they have added, Jesus and Zinchenko. I just think he isn’t in a major rush to sign.
“If Arsenal didn’t get into the Champions League this season I wouldn’t be surprised if he is looking for a move.
“He would be looking for a move to a regular Champions League team like Liverpool or Man City, even Chelsea.
“It would have to be someone who is more or less guaranteed Champions League football. It is a tough one because he still has years left on his deal and whoever comes in will have to pay top dollar.
“He will definitely want to get out if they don’t get into the Champions League, that’s what the club will promise him.”

Saka scored 12 goals in 43 total appearances for the Gunners during the 2021-22 season.
He also notched seven assists as the Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League.
In other news, Arsenal have been backed to swoop for another Premier League star after an Oleksandr Zinchenko update.
