Ousmane Dembele has admitted that he talked to Jurgen Klopp about a move to Liverpool before deciding to join Borussia Dortmund.
Talking in FourFourTwo, the 19-year-old Bundesliga wonderkid said that he met Jurgen Klopp in France who was attempting a last-ditch bid to get him to move to Liverpool.
However, Dembele told him that he had already made his mind up about Dortmund.
The German club eventually snapped up the French winger for a reported €15 million from Stade Rennais in July 2016.
“I saw Klopp in Paris but I told him I’d made up my mind to sign for BVB,” Dembele said to FourFourTwo.

He also said that Premier League champions Leicester were interested in acquiring his services, however he added he never had any intention of joining the Foxes.
“I made the decision a long time ago, so going to Leicester was out of the question,” Dembele added.
Dortmund are currently third in the Bundesliga table, a distant 13 points behind table-topping Bayern Munich but Dembele has played a crucial part in their season.
The French international, who made his debut for the senior squad in September 2016, has scored six goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for BVB and has also provided a staggering 14 assists.
Dembele played a starring role in Dortmund’s memorable Champions League game against Legia which ended with a ridiculous 8-4 scoreline.
The 19-year-old scored and got a hat-trick of assists in the freak result.
His most recent goal for Thomas Tuchel’s side was in a 3-0 thrashing of Wolfsburg in February when he also grabbed an assist.
In other Liverpool news, the club have reportedly tabled a bid for Brazilian wonderkid who has been compared to Neymar.
