Burnley hit ‘panic stations’ amid Scott Parker sack verdict
Burnley are at serious risk of getting relegated from the Premier League and have been dragged further away from safety after a dismal run of results.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Scott Parker is struggling to get the best out of his players.
The Clarets have lost 12 of their 16 league games so far this season and have the second-worst defensive record in the division, only behind bottom side Wolves.
Their only win in their last eight games came against the Black Country outfit, while victories against fellow newly-promoted sides Leeds and Sunderland gave them hope.
However, with just one draw so far this season, their failure to grind out results especially at Turf Moor has increased the expectation that they will be relegated.

Burnley at serious risk of being relegated
Burnley lost 3-2 to Fulham at Turf Moor over the weekend, further piling on the pressure as teams around them in the relegation scrap picked up points.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience working closely alongside elite-level managers including Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade at Man United, insisted that their failure to stop goals and lack of home form will cost Burnley dearly.
“Unfortunately, it’s looking more and more likely they will be relegated,” he told Football Insider.
“Everybody expected Burnley to go down before the season started, but that doesn’t make it any easier when you’re in the middle of the season and it’s all going wrong.
“It’s ironic really, because Burnley got a lot of praise for their performances last year.
“They had an excellent defensive record in the Championship and they were fantastic, they were the team I was most impressed by last season. But now they’ve come up and quickly found out that the Premier League is a different kettle of fish.
“I heard the commentary from their game against Fulham and they were giving daft goals away, so that stability at the back is starting to fade.
“Then you add to that the fact they can’t score too many goals for whatever reason, it’s dangerous.
“Giving goals away at one end and struggling to score them at the other is a recipe for disaster, and now they’re dropping further into the relegation zone.
“They can’t buy a win away from home, they’ve really struggled, and then when their home performances hit a dip it throws everything into panic stations.”
Scott Parker could be sacked after dismal results
Football Insider exclusively revealed in October that Burnley had no plans to sack Parker despite slipping into the relegation zone in the season’s early stages.
However, after their defeat against fellow strugglers Fulham at the weekend, they have dropped to six points from safety and are at risk of being cut adrift.
As a result, failure to pick up points between now and the new year could see the boss replaced as the club scramble for their Premier League survival.

Brown told Football Insider on 15 December that Parker could be sacked by Burnley in the new year if he fails to turn results around between now and then.
Burnley have already begun considering Parker’s potential replacement as pressure continues to grow on the manager’s position due to their recent run of poor form.
