Burnley in advanced talks to appoint ex-Fulham boss Scott Parker – sources
Burnley are in advanced talks to appoint former Fulham boss Scott Parker as their next manager, sources have told Football Insider.
The Clarets are hoping to wrap up the appointment and make an announcement by the weekend.
Burnley are preparing for life back in the Championship after suffering relegation from the Premier League under Vincent Kompany last season.
Kompany then left Turf Moor to join Bayern Munich at the end of May, just days after the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign.
Football Insider revealed last month (15 June) that ex-Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and West Brom manager Carlos Corberan have been interviewed about the role.
Parker has been out of work since leaving Club Brugge in March 2023 after just 12 matches in charge.

The former England midfielder is an experienced operator in the Championship, achieving promotion with both Fulham and Bournemouth.
He led the Cherries to a second-place finish in the 2020-21 campaign and led Fulham to play-off glory in the 2019-20 season.
Parker has won 48 of his 92 matches in charge of second-tier games, amassing 1.84 points per match.

Burnley have allowed Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Charlie Taylor, Jack Cork and Johann Berg Gudmundsson to leave the club so far this summer.
The Clarets kick off their 2024-25 campaign against Luton Town on 12 August.
