Burnley vs Chelsea postponement update as Met Office issue Storm Claudia warning
Burnley’s Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday could be affected by Storm Claudia.
The upcoming clash at Turf Moor is hugely important at both ends of the table, with the hosts trying to put daylight between themselves and the bottom three, and Enzo Maresca’s visitors trying to reel in Arsenal at the top.
Chelsea are already plotting moves for the likes of Mike Maignan in the January transfer window, but they must first navigate their way through the notoriously hectic festive period.
They will be aiming to stretch their unbeaten run in all competitions to five games in the early kick-off on Saturday, but they may face difficult conditions in the North West during the game.

Met Office issue yellow weather warning in the North
Chelsea and Burnley return from the international break with a huge encounter this weekend, but the weather could easily play its part in proceedings.
Storm Claudia has wreaked havoc across the country already this week, and the Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in place in parts of the North on Thursday.
There could be a risk of that being extended into the weekend, and the current forecast in Burnley on Saturday indicates a strong chance of heavy rain before kick-off, with the wind potentially reaching gusts of 13mph during play.
Nevertheless, the yellow weather warning doesn’t cover the Lancashire region at present, meaning that there should be little question of a potential postponement, unless the situation changes drastically on Friday.

However, the combination of heavy rain before the game and strong winds looks set to create difficult conditions for both teams to contend with.
Burnley aiming for first win over Chelsea in 11 games
Chelsea have big aspirations in the Premier League this season, and they will be desperate to avoid a slip-up against a likely relegation candidate.
Scott Parker’s side have already caused problems for some of the top clubs so far this term, and Liverpool needed a 95th-minute penalty to escape Turf Moor with three points back in September.
The Clarets haven’t beaten Chelsea in any of their last 11 encounters, and the West Londoners will hope to stretch that record further this weekend.
The Blues haven’t tasted defeat at Turf Moor since 1983, and Maresca and his men will be eyeing another three points this time around.
