Burnley vs Man United postponement latest as new warning emerges for Wednesday
Man United’s trip to Burnley on Wednesday could be under threat of postponement after a new yellow weather warning for ice in the local area was issued by the Met Office.
Man United‘s post-Ruben Amorim era begins with a visit to Turf Moor to face a Burnley side at real risk of being cut adrift in the battle to survive relegation.
Darren Fletcher has been named as United’s interim boss, and he could be appointed on a deal that runs until the end of the season unless a preferred permanent candidate emerges soon.
The Red Devils are without a whole host of key players, such as Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo, but will surely fancy their chances of a win against a Clarets side who last picked up three points in October.
Numerous EFL matches were postponed over the weekend after the UK was hit with cold temperatures, and now that the snow and ice have arrived, both Burnley and United fans will need to be wary on Wednesday night.

Met Office issues yellow weather warning for Turf Moor and surrounding areas
Scott Parker could be sacked by Burnley soon amid an 11-game winless run that has seen them slip six points from Premier League safety in 19th place.
The games have come thick and fast for his struggling side over the last month, and so the threat of potential postponement may well appeal to him right now.
A yellow weather warning has been put in place by the Met Office for most of England, Wales and Scotland, with Burnley included, after some heavy snowfall in the last few days.
Icy patches overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday could lead to some disruption on the roads, and while Turf Moor’s pitch should be able to withstand the adverse conditions, fans are warned of icy surfaces when entering the stadium.
Fletcher backed to make changes to Amorim’s side against Burnley
Fletcher has been a highly-rated coach within United’s academy for a number of years, and is bound to want to put his own ideas forward for the foreseeable future now that Amorim is gone.
The Clarets will provide his first test, and Fletcher may hand a first senior start to his son, Jack, next to Casemiro at Turf Moor, amid Manuel Ugarte’s poor form.
Senne Lammens will be in goal, with Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven set to continue in a back-three formation, given the short turnaround between games.

Left wing-back is where Fletcher could look to mix it up, with Patrick Dorgu potentially given the nod in his favoured position over Luke Shaw, which could see Joshua Zirkzee handed a start after he changed the game with a smart assist against Leeds.
Diogo Dalot, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko look set to continue in their respective favoured positions, and United are in dire need of three points in the wake of Amorim’s departure to boost their chances of a top-five finish this season.
