Caicedo and Murillo react to six-word message from new Chelsea signing
Moises Caicedo and Nottingham Forest star Murillo have reacted to a new message from an incoming Chelsea signing on social media.
Chelsea’s recent relentless spending has not slowed down any this summer, with Champions League football to look forward to at Stamford Bridge next season after their fourth-placed finish in the 2024/25 Premier League.
Enzo Maresca’s side are currently partaking in the Club World Cup, with one win and one loss from their first two group games following a surprise 3-1 defeat to Flamengo on Friday (20 June).
He has already moved to bolster his squad ahead of next season, with sizeable fees spent on Liam Delap and Sporting CP duo Dario Essugo and Geovany Quenda, while Chelsea are also plotting a move to sign Brighton striker Joao Pedro.
The Italian coach will not be best pleased with his players’ performances in their shock defeat to Flamengo, but the Brazilian flair on show from their opponents will soon become prevalent at Stamford Bridge when another new signing joins the club after the tournament.

Caicedo and Murillo react as Estevao shares Palmeiras message
Estevao signed for Chelsea back in June 2024, with the deal set-up for him to stay at Palmeiras then join the Blues this summer.
Chelsea have allowed the 18-year-old to play in the Club World Cup for the Brazilian side prior to his official switch later in the summer, and he has shone with two starts in each of their group games so far, with Palmeiras yet to lose after a 0-0 draw with Porto and a 2-0 win over Al-Ahly.
Estevao took to Instagram on Friday (20 June) following that victory, as he posted a series of images from the game with a six-word caption: “Toda honra e glória a Deus” which translates to “All honor and glory to God,” alongside a praying emoji.
His post was reacted to by Chelsea stars Caicedo and Marc Guiu, who each left a like, while Forest centre-back Murillo and West Ham winger Luis Guilherme also followed suit.
Murillo has previously been on Chelsea’s radar, as revealed by Football Insider, and he could well be planning to join his compatriot in West London soon after they had a bid for his services rejected in January.
Chelsea plan busy summer window following Estevao switch
Football Insider verdict
Maresca’s main focus right now will be on his side’s Club World Cup campaign, as Chelsea aim to win the tournament for the second time in their history, and first time in its new expanded format.
With that said, the Blues are certainly still keeping busy behind the scenes, with numerous signings lined up to join Estevao at Stamford Bridge in 2025/26.

Chelsea do not need to make major sales to help their PSR situation this summer, and so their plans to compete for the top prizes are set to be aided with numerous incomings, with Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite also a target for the Blues alongside Forest man Murillo.
Maresca also wants to sign Ajax youngster Jorrel Hato, while Football Insider recently revealed that Chelsea are in the race to sign wantaway Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
One player who looks unlikely to make the move to West London is Mike Maignan, after the Blues pulled out of a deal for the French international earlier this month due to disagreements with AC Milan about the transfer fee for his services [Daily Mail].
Estevao is sure to want to play a major role in Chelsea’s squad next season, but the more players that join, the more he may well be forced to regularly sit out in league and European games, which could cause issues for Maresca as he looks to guide his side to further success.
