Pundit salutes ‘incredible’ Liverpool after Kieran Maguire’s £600m reveal

Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Liverpool after it was revealed Man United have spent £600million more on transfers over the past decade.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker said Jurgen Klopp, 54, has done “an incredible job” with the resources available to him.

The Reds hammered Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side 5-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Football finance guru Kieran Maguire revealed after the result that United have £600m-net more than Liverpool on transfers over the past decade.

The Red Devils have also spent £310million more on wages than their Premier League rivals.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the figures, Campbell said: “Liverpool deserve a lot of praise.

“They have done an incredible job. Jurgen Klopp has been incredible for that club.

“When he first came in he said he didn’t want to do it like Chelsea and Man City but to a certain extent, even he had to succumb to spending big. He had to buy the quality.

“I know he moved and shaked and sold [Phillipe] Coutinho. There has been a high turnover of players at Liverpool since he’s been at the club. Only a few players are still there.

“It tells you that Klopp knows what he wants and he goes out and gets it. Now, that is great management. He gets in the right type of characters.

“Home or away, you know what you get with Liverpool. United could not live with them on Sunday.”
