Campbell shares definitive verdict on Alioski's Leeds future after agent speaks out

Kevin Campbell has tipped Ezgjan Alioski to sign a new contract at Leeds United after the player’s agent spoke out on his client’s future.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker expects the 29-year-old’s future to be resolved in the next fortnight.

Leeds made an improved contract offer to Alioski earlier this month but he is yet to accept and, as things stand, will become a free agent next week.

The wide man has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Galatasaray and CSKA Moscow this month.

However, speaking to Sport24, his agent Dino Lamberti insisted there has been no contact with CSKA Moscow despite reports.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Alioski’s future, Campbell said:

“I expect Alioski’s future to be resolved in the next couple of weeks.

“I think he had a very good Euros to be honest. I was impressed with how he played throughout.

“In my opinion, he really suits Leeds. They are made for each other. He knows the football club, the system, the manager etc. so I think he’ll be tempted to stay.

“I think both sides will come together and get it sorted. I’m starting to wonder whether all of this waiting is just a negotiation ploy to try and get a better deal.”
