Campbell slams Elneny and tips Arsenal to sign replacement after update via Sky
Kevin Campbell has tipped Arsenal to sign a new midfielder despite the fact Granit Xhaka is set to remain at the club for the 2021-22 campaign.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker suggested Mohamed Elneny, who is “not good enough” to be a regular starter, should be replaced.
As quoted by Sky Sports (August 1st), Mikel Arteta revealed Xhaka will remain at the Emirates despite offers from AS Roma for the centre-midfielder.

The Gunners currently have the Switzerland international, Mohamed Elneny, Albert Lokonga and the injured Thomas Partey as their deep-lying midfield options.
Campbell is desperate for the club to ‘get busy’ in recruiting a midfielder before the window shuts.
“I’m sure Arsenal are going to try and sign another midfielder even though it looks like Xhaka is going to stay now,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“I still think we are light in that position. The game on Sunday proved that Elneny is not good enough against quality opposition.
“Let’s be honest, opposition tend to trap him a lot. He’s just not good enough on the ball. Against lesser teams he does OK but against the better teams he gets exposed.

“Realistically, it’s not enough options quality options in the midfield. Arsenal need to get busy and sign a top central midfield player.
“Elneny is a squad player who can do a job against a Burnley but against the top teams, no, just no.”
