Campbell thrilled by Patino update from Wheatley ahead of Arsenal showdown

Kevin Campbell is thrilled “immense talent” Charlie Patino is set to commit his future to Arsenal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker claimed the 17-year-old is ready to train with the first team on a regular basis.

Speaking to the Latte Firm YouTube channel (15th September), Football.London’s Chris Wheatley revealed the centre-midfielder is staying at the Emirates amid links to Barcelona.

Patino could make his debut for the Gunners tonight when they take on AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup.

He has been training with the first team ahead of the clash.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on Patino, Campbell said:

“He is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most exciting talents out there. Tie him down and get him in and around that first team.

“Get him training with them on a weekly basis and if there is a chance to give him some minutes tonight, let him have a taste. Once he has a taste you will see what a player he is going to be.

“If he gets the bug he will work even harder to get into the first team. But if he plays and gets taken by the bright lights than they will need to be re-evaluate his development.

“The club need to tie him down. He is an immense talent. Don’t mess around.”
