Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes both the Blues and Tottenham will be firmly of the belief that they can beat each other on Saturday.
The two London rivals are currently preparing for a short trip to Wembley where they will face each other at the FA Cup semi-final stage.
It is also an encounter which sees the top two of the Premier League face off and many believe the weekend’s result could have a say in the league’s final outcome.
However, the experienced Fabregas would seem to disagree and has stated that Chelsea have responded well to poor results this season which has enable them to occupy first place.
“No, I’m sure they will believe they can beat us and we believe we can beat them – it’s on the day,” told Fabregas to TalkSport.
“Psychologically, football can be affected by results sometimes, but I believe every time we had a bad result this year, we bounced back very quickly and that says a lot about the team.”
Tottenham have already played their two league fixtures against Chelsea this season with the teams sharing three points each.
Spurs were the most recent winners as the battled to a 2-0 victory over the Blues at White Hart Lane with young star Dele Alli scoring both goals and they will be hoping for the same outcome this weekend.
However, Chelsea will be sure to put up a fight and will be looking for club stars Fabregas, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard to step up at Wembley.
