Darren Bent showered Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford with praise after being impressed by his current run of form.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Premier League striker shared that there never was any doubt about how good Rashford was but stated that people questioned whether he had the killer instinct needed to score 15-20 goals a season.

Rashford has scored ten goals and registered four assists this season in the 18 appearances he has made across all competitions.

The 22-year-old started Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Sheffield United and added another assist as well as a goal to his tallies for the season.

Bent explained that what he had been really enjoying about Rashford as of late is that even when he is not scoring, he does something else to make a positive impact on games.

When asked about Rashford’s improvement in form, Bent told Football Insider: “The thing about Marcus Rashford is we know how good he is.

“He is technically a very very good player, he can dribble, he can pass, he can do everything pretty much, but people were questioning whether he is ruthless, whether he has that killer instinct to go on and score 15-20 goals.

“But he is playing really well at the moment and what I like about him and at the minute is that if he is not scoring, he is trying to do something to affect the game.”

The 22-year-old English forward has been at Old Trafford the entirety of his professional football career after rising through the club’s youth ranks to become a regular member of the first-team.

Rashford is contracted to stay with Manchester United until 2023 after signing a contract extension in July 2019.
