Liverpool icon Terry McDermott insists Tottenham star Dele Alli is destined for a club like Real Madrid or Barcelona.
The 20-year-old midfielder has earned the right to be considered up there with the best in Europe this season after an unprecedented run of goalscoring form.
Alli has contributed an incredible 17 goals and nine assists from 40 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this term, including four goals and three assists from his last five matches.
His sensational form continues to draw the plaudits, and McDermott has added his name to the growing list of admirers.
He admitted to the Mirror that Alli ‘had everything’ and was the best young midfielder he had seen for some time.
McDermott said: “Alli is brilliant, absolutely brilliant. He can do everything.
“He’s a tough little so and so as well. He’s not frightened of getting stuck in. He has done daft things, like we’ve all done. He’s punched someone, gone over the top while tackling, but he’s still a young kid and has everything going for him.
“He can only get better and, when he does, Barcelona and Real Madrid will come calling – and I’ll be his agent! He’s the best young midfielder I have seen for some time.”
McDermott was also delighted to see Alli championing the cause of the goalscoring midfielder, which he believes to be a dying art in the modern game.
The England international is following in the footsteps of class talents such as Bryan Robson, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, who were all prolific midfield goalscorers in their prime.
Lampard, for example, finished his career with 274 goals from 913 appearances, including a career-best haul of 22 Premier League goals during the 2009-10 season with Chelsea.
Alli has already been linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid, despite putting pen-to-paper on a new six-year contract back in September.
In other Tottenham news, Premier League rivals Everton are eyeing a £12million move for this Spurs player this summer.
