Caoimhin Kelleher wants to leave Liverpool after Wolves move blocked – sources
Liverpool expect Caoimhin Kelleher to push for a summer exit as he looks to take his career to the next level, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old wants to be a number one after proving himself as Alisson’s deputy over recent seasons.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp blocked the goalkeeper from joining Wolves last summer, with Kelleher keen to make the move at the time.
The German convinced the Republic of Ireland international to stay, but a summer exit is now increasingly likely.
Liverpool star pushing for summer transfer window exit
Klopp is leaving Anfield at the end of the season, set to be replaced by Feyenoord boss Arne Slot in a deal worth £10million, sources told Football Insider on Saturday (27 April).
The man currently in the Reds dugout could be followed out of the exit door by Kelleher, who has a contract at Anfield until June 2026.
The goalkeeper has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season, all of which have been starts, filling in for Alisson due to injury and also rotation.
One of his standout displays involved helping Liverpool beat Chelsea in the League Cup final at Wembley in February.
Sources told Football Insider shortly after that match that the Reds value the shot-stopper at around £20million.
Kelleher has overtaken veteran Adrian as the Merseyside club’s second-choice goalkeeper, with the former now on 47 Liverpool appearances overall.

The 25-year-old also boasts 12 Republic of Ireland caps, having made his international debut back in 2021.
